And so I went to Europe for holiday~ :D

There were many ups and downs of travelling on holiday in Europe, but it was generally a good trip! :D The best thing was playing with snow, freezing my entire hand to build snowman and lying on the snow with jiejie, on Mt Titlis ^^

And there were those nights when I could share the same room with jiejie! :D haha, and not forgetting that I don't have to care about my work, and mummy doesn't have to care about her washing machine. xD Finally, jiejie and I sang k in our hotel room while counting down cos we figured the room was soundproof. hehe! :D

First time counting down overseas! I was actually boarding the metro when Singapore was counting down. hurhur. Great experience(:

iCamp

I wanted to blog about this yesterday but I was seriously TOO TIRED.

Yup, I finally managed to convince my parents to let me go for one day of iCamp (though I'd totally wished to stay for the whole camp D: ) And so I set of early early in the morning, being super excited to play~~ haha.

and I joined Ravenclaw! :D JingHua is a really really good zuzhang! Thumbs up! I love my teammates too (((: I think that's how 革命情感 develops. hurhurhur. ^^ I haven't been the one playing all these games for quite a while already! xD

The gross-est thing was stepping on wet mud when we tried to get into the pavilion. everyone was like saying, "we are stepping on shit!". Ok, this goes on the top of the "gross" list cos I didn't get smeared chilli and curry sauce, like some others. Hmm, the next most exciting thing was dipping our faces into the bowl of flour to fish out paper! but argh, I couldn't find any paper ):

And I found my "Watch Runningman" buddies :D *excites* hehehe. Finally can share my excitement for the show with somebody else who understands.

Then wanhui was super exciting! I think wanhui was really well-planned! :D (Y) (Y) and ravenclaw staged a wonderful performance! clap clap! ((: We were so so high all along! :D

But I had to go home after that )): sigh.

I'm listening to CNBLUE now, so I can't concentrate on blogging. haha. Tmr's gonna be an exciting day! :D

Anyway, one of the factors of this happiness is that I finally found my refill papers for my notebook! :D YES, so I can start doodling. haha, searched for so many popular outlets and finally found it! (((:

And I went on a date with jiejie (sort of). YAY :D

BTW, jiejie got me a Doraemon that is the size of the $26.90 one but she got it for $10 cos Kiddy Palace was having sale! She got the last one! :D :D :D I think this is err #17, if we count the huggable ones? ;)

Lessons from a painting session

I went painting today! :D Painted for the first time; though it's other people's house :D haha. It was a really good experience, cos we get to see first-hand what it's like for the elderlies who are not very mobile. Quite a bit of obstacles to overcome, but enjoying every bit of it (:

First there was the house with 3 cats. omg, damn aggressive and god knows how they can fit underneath the cupboard that's against the wall. We didn't even expect a cat and there turned out to be 3 O: But I felt very sad, cos there was definitely a clash of values. Like we youngsters were damn scared of the aggressive cats and kept wanting them out of sight, but the lady loved her pets so much. ): I guess all of us realised the gravity of the issue when the cat tried to jump out of the window when we screamed and the lady cried so hard. )':

and then there was the pair of roommates upstairs who were super possessive of everything they had. Their living conditions are seriously unimaginable. Worse than what you see on TV. And so, I went in with Julian, Kelly and Desmond first. Sprayed DAMN LOTS of pesticides, whacked the roaches damn hard repeatedly before we could clear the place to paint.

[OMG, FAIRPRICE PESTICIDE SUCKS. IT'S JUST BODY PAINT FOR THE ROACHES -.-]

ya, and we painted over cockroach eggs and painted the spiders. heh. Then we moved the stuff on the other side of the unit, and World War III began. What with termites, ants and a COLONY of cockroaches, from fun-size to bigger-than-you-can-ever-imagine ones. Just sprayed and whacked super lots of times!

But all the while the old lady was just annoyed that we moved her stuff. And the old man was scolding her for scolding us.

Can you imagine. 50-60 years down the road, if I can't walk, someone tries to help clean my house and looks disgustingly as my Doraemons and treat them as rubbish? Then secretly throws them away behind my back? D:

I realised it's really important to keep up with the times. At least our mindsets must be "updated" with the society's. If not, it's really hard to receive help and fit into the society Dx The lady with the cats was so thankful for the help. But the pair of roommates didn't appreciate it at all.

I guess it goes back to the scene in "I NOT STUPID", where Selena's mum told her, "I'm doing all these for your own good!" Is it really doing good when we are doing what we think is best for others but they actually don't think so? D:

Life's been boring

Eh, I didn't blog after my last paper. Nothing much to say after that anyway. Just that Puss In Boots was really funny. haha, we laughted ttm at the golden goose and humpty dumpty ^^ I've been strongly encouraging jiejie to go watch it but I doubt she'll laugh as hard as I did anyway...

Ya, so life's been boring. Nothing much to do.

And soon work starts pouring in. But it's happy work! :D So happy to do txy stuff without having to think about homework. YES! *\(^.^)/* hmm, as the no. of days from my last 'A's paper increases, the no. of lazy bugs in my body increases too. Hehe, don't really want to tidy the remaining parts of my table now. Maybe my good cleaning cells will start working tonight! :D

And I don't know what shows to start watching. hmm.

Nightmares

I've been having nightmares! STUPID NIGHTMARES.

I dreamt that I fell asleep while taking a TAXI (?!) to school and the uncle took a big big turn so he could earn extra... And I alighted at some CARPARK OF A NEIGHBOURHOOD ESTATE (?!) and I was ROBBED of my bag and wallet. OMG, ENTRY PROOF.

And uh some other bad dreams that I can't remember. zzZZ

I think it's cos of the pressure that I'm slacking though 'A's aren't over yet. -.- and some article I read in the morning. Interesting how my brain pieces up info and spin new stories...

I don't know why, but I felt really sad when I took my revision notes out of my bag and kept them in my boxes after exam each day. Some sense of relief, a bit of sorrow and some tinge of regret. IDK, but it's just so hard to accept that school's over. Like all these 2 years of burning the midnight oil, trying to make my time management work, mugging hard and everything... all my understanding of the subjects are going to be measured by 2/3 papers, a few hours, 1 results slip. (and maybe an RD)

ugh, like WAHT?! It's going to be over in a week. ):

JC has been life-changing for me. I have NEVER expected life to become like that. But I guess, all these choices that we learn to make cause us to become more mature, don't they? Interesting ups and downs these 2 years, a lot of happiness, quite a bit of disappointment; some loss here, some gains there (:

I guess the hardest hit was my results. I think nobody has ever experienced such LARGE fluctuations like me. /: yah, people say, that's the furthest you can go alr, the only way is UP. RIGHT, I never knew I could go down further. hurhur. NOT FUNNY.

Not funny, when you go back to your primary school and your teachers give you a knowing and hopeful look.
Not funny, when your friends tell you "RI one, no problem lah"
Not funny, when you study so so hard and your results don't reflect your hardwork.

You'll never know how long it took me to convince myself that I'm not stupid.

JC taught me the important lesson of Give and Take. I'd never wanted to admit that it was March's Yingxin and June's YES but deep down I knew. I knew how expensive these commitments were. But they were so so important to me. It's not that I don't know how to prioritise like other people; it's just that I have different priorities.

JC taught me that I am not superwoman, much as I hate this conclusion.

Went for interview yesterday with YES'11 key comm. (: Not the uni apps or scholarship kind of interviews, hurhur
It's for a book! ((:

And what left me thinking really hard after that, was the question, "what's on your bucket list?"

Honestly, I've never thought about it before. Like never seriously asked myself what I wanted to do before I die. And I realised, having a bucket list actually helps you set a direction in life, so that when you look back, you didn't waste time in digressing from what you really wanted to do this lifetime.

Everyone else had big big dreams about what they're gonna achieve, as compared to what I shared. But I guess my current bucket list only consists of things that I'm very certain of.

I want to bake with jiejie one day.

Anyway, went out for grocery shopping with mummy again today ((: It's like our weekly Sat activity ever since all my commitments ended in preparation for 'A's!

Hmm, just realised that life is actually very good now. Because we are finally fulfilling our "occupation" as students and the only thing we do now is MUG.

'A's are coming and they're going to be over soon! Sigh, will definitely miss this period of time, when I can go to the market on Saturday mornings with mummy ((: No more such activities after 29th Nov, with my 1st ZY meeting the Sat after that! haha. But it's going to be fun [Like finally doing stuff without the burden of homework ^^]

I miss the damn hectic life before prelims,
I will miss this time when I have NOTHING to do except for studying, and
there will be more periods of time to come which I will miss.

But life's like that, isn't it? There's a time for everything. 重要的是要活在当下。

HOLY. I think I experienced the Singapore version of the above today O:

Alvin, Eric and I were sorting our RD stuff at council canteen today, when there came strong [SUPER DUPER STRONG] gusts of wind and started wreaking havoc. There were so many OMG moments, like the whole MR banner flying up, the BIG green noticeboard FLYING away and so many newspapers flying past us. HAHA. and my pages flipped quickly and automatically, like those movies where they cast a spell and the book automatically flips to a page O:

SCARY.

hmm, but yeah, I mean, it's these kind of thrills that make school life interesting :D ok, I think birds banging into windows is too trivial alr. xD HEHE

Youth Day ♥

My last Youth Day holiday was a blast! :D haha, I think it's the first time I'm celebrating it8)

Anyway, Shan Bei and I reached Cathay damn early today (like even before all the ticketing counters opened) cos we were afraid we wouldn't be able to get enough seats xD haha, so I managed to take photos of the figures and display boards at ease since there weren't even other people walking around~ Transformers 3 was good (Y) (except for the neckache part...) haha

Then had lunch, chionged in and out of Carrefour within 5 min and boarded the train towards Marina Bay! :D haha, we ran like mad cos my Iris said 400 was coming in 8min and the next bus in 46 min O: in the end we took the shuttle bus and met the other picnic people on the bus ^.^

Then flew kite and picnic-ed and sun-tanned (until damn RED and pain)~ SUPER FUN :D haha, but flying my kite at Marina Barrage wasn't fun, cos my string's too short D: and no excitement at all since the kite just goes up by itself... But nonetheless, it's the first time seeing my kite fly so high! :D :D previous attempts at other places were... fail. heh heh.

And we had dinner at Just Acia to end it off :D

I LOVE YES11 TEAM :D I want more outings!! :D haha

Then again, I'm starting the school term red in the face and hands. sigh. Super duper red now D: and mummy just gave me the 你活该 look while daddy was amused that I look like a lobster ><

I was very impressed and very happy with angklung (and strings)' opening for RGS Arts Tapestry 2011 Night Extravaganza! :D It was certainly a splendid show! (((: GREAT JOB GIRLS <3 Good music! (((:

Haha, Charmaine TOODEE and I thought we wouldn't be able to get tickets and were trying to get tickets by the door, so we rushed to RG in the evening without having had dinner xD Turned out that they opened the gallery for us to watch :D so YAY! haha, we were so desperate; we just said YEAH OK, WE DON'T MIND STANDING EVEN. ;P

But looking at that amount of energy, passion and the strength of the AK Bass, I just wanted SO MUCH to be performing with the ensemble again. But of course, I think nothing beats our batch xD hehe.

Shopping with jiejie is fun indeed.

Anyway, I'm quite excited for jiejie's party! esp with all the stuff we got today ^.^

I was woken up at 11.30am today and told mummy, "At this time, for the last 3 days, I was preparing to go to the lunch area to help with food" *rubs my eyes*

It's so hard to let go of YES11. 9 months of hard work, 40 over meetings, 21 comm. members, 36 facils, 3 advisors, 3 days. And then POOF, YES just ended.

It's like changing my entire lifestyle, my weekly routine, MY LIFE O: I mean, I started the year and my J2 life with YES in place alr. So it's so strange that I don't have to go for meetings, don't have to type minutes, don't have to read YES e-mails anymore D:

YES11 was life-changing and the BEST event I've ever been to/ organised. TWENTY-ONE minds, ONE goal. So many brain cells killed during the planning process, so many sacrifices made by all, and EVERYONE committed to ONE EVENT <3 It's just too overwhelming that YES has ended )':

I'll miss every single one of the comm. members, all the retarded funny moments, speaking in Chinese to so many people, chionging work together, the whole 3 days worth of exciting activities.

And to quote Wen Tjun, "words can't describe what I feel as I was packing up Room 2-6 and getting ready to leave that place". When 2-6 was back to its original state, it was just WOAH, can't believe we transformed this to our HQ in 3 days D:

I watched a super retarded but funny movie on Channel 5 on Vesak Day, called Dodgeball.

Yes, it was retarded and funny, but there was this particular scene, where the coach said something like, "You don't have skills like them, so you can only win by GETTING ANGRY"

Sometimes, when a spring has been compressed or stretch for a long period of time, it just feels SO WEIRD to be back to the original position of equilibrium. Maybe we have been too accustomed to living a life that is more inclined to either extremes, so the "ok, just nice" feeling doesn't actually feel ok or just nice at all.

Like all the girls and guys wear about the same thing, so we couldn't tell who the real bride and groom are-.- and since the neighbours are new, we don't even know if the son/daughter is getting married /: The funny thing is, the maid and a little girl upstairs hide in one corner and looks on excitedly, while another auntie keeps wiping the same spot on the window and leans further and further out... ALL obviously trying to catch a glimpse of the show ;) It's really funny seeing the neighbours trying to be secretive when they're actually in full view of others. HAHA.

HAHAHA. Nothing eventful during debrief (: But I ran/jogged a lot so as not to be too late xD hehe. I guess my neighbours will soon label me as the girl who is running late cos I always run to the bus-stop xD ah well... NO, I just don't want to miss any bus (:

whee~ stepped into Zouk again! ^^ this time, I can really see what's going on. heh. This is the highlight of the day! YES YES, highlight at like 8.45pm :D haha, we had to go late cos of awards ceremony... but we didn't miss all the big shots! I had so much fun doing science experiments with the children/ non-children at MDAS today :D It's like back to the good old times when science experiments weren't about observing colour change/ gas evolved yada yada or even TITRATION... when science experiments were truly fun! LIKE mentos in a coke bottle, baking soda, magnets, DIY telephone! (((:

Hope the people had fun. I sure did. haha. Haven't done these sort of experiments for long and was rather stumped at explaining some things just now xD and mentos in a coke bottle is COOL stuff (: I shall try it again if I do have time :D

Ok, I hadn't planned to write a post when I switched on my computer. But today was just such an eventful and... rather overwhelming day. So I guess I'm gonna write about it.

First thing was Civics! woah, listening to people reflect about their lives and talking about their dreams just sets me thinking about my own life. I guess I haven't thought about it seriously yet >< ah well. I really don't know what to say when it's gonna be my turn!

Next was TXY talk at RG. Ok, never mind about the talk. ^^ haha, it's just a normal speech. Didn't do too badly... though I didn't actually get to share my experiences before everyone had to leave Dx I was a little disappointed then, when I couldn't tell them how TXY has changed my life, how my teachers' advice made all these possible. mm.

But the best part of going back was meeting the teachers, the juniors and walking on the familiar grounds where I grew up. AHH, all those memories flooded back when I saw the juniors in school )': I wish I never graduated. Yelin agrees that RG is so so so much better. It's just this warmth that I can't find anywhere else, not in RI, not anywhere ): Mummy says this is part of growing up, cos time stops for no one. argh, I really really wish I was still back in my RG school days!

Finally, there was my gavel speech to top it off. I finally started on Project 2 (oh dear, so slow), and I spoke about letters! (: I guess till the end of the speech, everyone in the room was still unconvinced that letter writing is good [not that I started out to convince them anyway]. Letter writing is just so close to my heart and I guess only my pseudo pen pals will understand the feeling! ~

The last time I slept at 2am was when I was in Xi'an. 2 days later, I became some walking zombie...

I wonder what will happen 2 days later in Science Focus, since I slept at 4plus for the past 2 nights. xD hmm. Haha, but sleeping so late was worth it :D

I mean, I never got to talk to so many of you'all before, until RETREAT RETREAT! <3 hehe.

And the funny thing is, I can wake up with the slightest noise outside, but I continue to sleep like a pig when there's a thunderstorm outside my bedroom. :D

Last day, having lunch at Beijing airport

I'm still missing the place Dx

and it's not just the place; it's the 30 of us. A whole bus-ful of awesome people, who sing 细水长流 for umpteen times, who LOVE shopping, LOVE supermarkets, LOVE camwhoring and cannot stop eating :D [well, that points to our most united dinner table especially, who finishes dumpling in split seconds xD]

and the teachers! The Vitamin Cs every morning, the epic mountain climbing experience and the dinners (:

not forgetting Desmond and the tour guide... xD the tour guide who's very particular about looking like auntie, who has ALL the history knowledge at her fingertips. And Desmond! OMG, the epic 西瓜圆不圆 and the damn long countdown before every photo ^^

and the 服务员s we met! (: so friendly :D haha, some cashier at a supermarket said, "这些人汉语讲得不错，就是不会看钱" ;P hehe.

Lastyly, 一一向前冲, entertainment I cannot live without. Damn nice 偶像剧! Once, I even RAN back to my hotel room after the night performance to catch the last 15min of the show ^^
